Obviously I must start by his look!
This 4 year Lusitano with metallic coat and blue eyes is impossible to miss.
Standing at 15+ hands tall with correct conformation, muscle tone and very modern mechanics.
Physically he is naturally build to perform on the higher levels. His body has no limitations and can be put in different positions easily.
He is the “show winner” type because he carries him self on a competition frame, has long stride at all 3 gates and fantastic knee/hack action.
He is the best of both words: the temperament of the Iberians and the athletism of the warmbloods.
Adorable character: Comes when called, goes around following people, looking for attention but specially sensitive and SMART.
Silas has a great disposition and loves to be told he did something well. He truly thinks/ studies situations and goes where the affection/ good vibes go, making him very easy to teach and educate. The formula for this horse it’s simple: “show him what to do, reward, done”.
Under saddle: He is a “ladies horse”
1- SAFE.
Since day one he has been very confident & comfortable with his surroundings. He is the safest you can ask a horse to be.
He has never had a bad experience, thought, reaction or naughty/fresh moment. Has never waisted time on spooking, fighting or any type of none sense.
No preparation needed, no getting him tired, no lunging, no need to be ridden everyday.
He has already proven to be very caring, kind & consistent, prioritizing the connexion/bond with his rider. (Other 13-17 years old horses never stop being naughty neither a trainer can promise they will become “beginner friendly” with time/ miles. Some horses never get there no matter the showring achievements because horses regardless the age, breed, color, gender, etc. each have their own personality). Silas is how he is because he has that soul and temperament.
2- Independent and light.
Uncomplicated with “automatic” tendency. Riders don’t need muscles neither a manual to make him go. Anyone can ride him.
He is sensitive and forward without anxiety, running or anticipating something he is not being asked. Light on the hand and round on his own. Easy to sit and manageable, balanced gaits.
He is as happy to go in a slow trot with someone learning to post as being pushed by a Pro. One of the qualities that set him apart is that he lives in the moment and can adjust to the rider rapidly.
He makes riding enjoyable allowing the program to be about the rider and his/her goals.
He is already confirm 1st level and could go to a show tomorrow. He knows leg yields, counter canter, transitions, lengthenings, voltes and is working on canter to walk, reinback and shoulder for the second level.
Overall he is too good about everything, can focus like a genius and advances very fast so we take lots of time to do trails, field, hills, dogs rides to keep the everyday fun while building strength without burning his brain.
On the ground he is gentleman and a barn favorite.
Lives in t/o, does farrier, vacuum, clippers, etc.
His body is in great shape, no injuries or sickness history.
His registration was send out last month to IALHA so information on his breeding can be shared when we have his papers in hand.
