Jota Da Moita – barn name Apollo – has gone through extensive training at the ranch and is now ready for his next adventure! He has a sweet, biddable personality and drive to work. He’s sensitive, sweet, and sensible. Apollo is a barn favorite that picks things up quickly and has an easy time with collected and lateral work. He lives outside in a herd with 40+ other horses and gets along well with others. Clips, bathes, loads, and is a pleasure to be around. At this time Apollo has taken some time off from the dressage world, but previously trained up through third level dressage.
Apollo has a beautiful, easy to collect trot and a floaty, uphill canter. Three lovely gaits and easy lateral work.
After coming to the states, Apollo was placed in a program to be trained from the ground up using natural horsemanship methods. You will not find a more pleasant horse on the ground. He respects space, ties well in aisles, doesn’t crowd, and is extremely well desensitized. He’s used to riding around moving vehicles, children, dogs, out on the trail, and has liberty training.
Apollo was imported in 2019 from Lisbon, Portugal and has a phenomenal pedigree well suited to dressage and under saddle work. It is difficult to find horses of this quality and temperament in the United States. Skip the import fees and get him from right here in WNY! He is ready to start his full time show career and will make someone a very special partner.
Apollo’s potential is limitless. He’d make an ideal mount for someone looking to do amateur dressage, and would be an easy horse to move up through the levels with. He’d also make an ideal working equitation or western dressage candidate.
Clean x-rays taken in 2020.
