Description

“Butter” is an all-rounder’s dream horse, and handsome too! I’ve had “Butter” in my program since December and he has been nothing short of a gentleman to have around the barn and in the arena. He comes out every day eager to please and always happy to work. Currently, he is working a solid second level and beginning to play with some third level elements. While Butter’s past consisted primarily of eventing, he does prefer to stick with dressage or more of a hunter pace for jumping, which he does enjoy for fun (video available)! “Butter” absolutely has the capability to work with someone and get their bronze medal together, dabble in the hunter ring, or both. No spook, bolt, rear, happy to hack out as well. He is ready to start the next chapter of his life and career in any direction with his new person!

“Butter” had kissing spine surgery on 6 spaces in fall of 2020 (happy to provide before and after x rays to serious inquiries to show improvement), which made a world of difference in his under saddle performance. There is no negative response or discomfort when palpated or while under saddle, and has only provided benefit. [For those who no longer want to read, I personally had the surgery done on my horse when he was 13 on and incredible 15 spaces, and he continued up the levels to compete at Grand Prix- he is now 19 and sound and comfortable in his back.]

“Butter” is more of a whoa than go type of ride, but does best in a consistent work program as after time off or not being in a consistent program he can be a little fresh in terms of a little on the cold-backed/small buck side. After his weekend off, I put him on the lunge for 5-10 min at most and then he is absolutely perfect; easy to prep and no nonsense, very honest. Since being in my program starting in December, he has been great and progresses each ride as the week goes.

UTD on teeth and farrier work; barefoot, sound, no maintenance, no vices; clips, bathes, ties, loads, etc. PPE welcome at buyer’s expense.
